Serenade Went North for the Winter!

North for the winter? Wait.. What?!?

This past weekend was our grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary and we had to make the trip up to visit and celebrate. All the furkids came along and played in the snow. We didnt stay out long because it was SO COLD!

We did manage to get a group shot before running inside to warm up though...

We took a lot more photos of everyone playing in the snow,

but they wont all fit here on the blog.

If you want to see more snow photos.. visit the slideshow page on the website at

New "Available Page" Design

Time for a little remodeling! It's been quite a while since we've updated the available section of our website and somethings needed added... SO... We have a new set up that divides show prospects from companion pets, and those living at Serenade from those that belong to friends. At the same time, we took down the "Puppies" page that stated our philosophies and terms of placement as they are now incorporated into the new pages.
Looking for a new pap? We have a couple available and so do some friends!
Check out our new available page here: (Direct link)
Dont forget to fill out an Inquiry form if you are serious about owning a Serenade Papillon.

Serenade Welcomes Sammy!

It is with GREAT HONOR that I introduce our wonderful new boy!
AKC CH Simply The Best Von Der Schmetterlingswiese

I have always adored Sammy from afar, and he is one of the main reasons I found my Sweet Boy, Sammy's grandson. I am so honored that he is finally home where he will be loved and cherished for the rest of his life.

We have high hopes for this amazing little man! We are working on getting him back into shape and condition to hit the show rings again! We hope to include his International title, his UKC Grand Championship, and a Canadian Championship as well! If he finds himself having a good time, I would love to see him hit the ring as a special, just for fun!

I want to send out a HUGE thank you to Anita Wright of Draco Papillons for allowing this wonderful boy to grace our home. I can never thank you enough!

*Sammy is Co-owned by our dear friends at DaVinci Papillons!

Chance and Chase Go Home!

Chance and Chase Go home!
Congrats to their new families!

*Chase (left) and Chance (right) have finally worn out John after playing!*

The home of Serenade is much quieter today as Chance, the last of Dream's puppies flew out to his new home! Both of these boys were such joys to have while they were with us!

Chase has gone to Kansas to live with Roma Tesch of Charisma K9's. When we went to see Merlin, she fell in love and now he is the little man of the house! Chase has started his show training and will hopefully be making his show debut in Mid November! Make sure to keep an eye out for him, he's gonna be a looker!

Chance gave up on growing and just decided to stay small. We had debated keeping him in hopes he would grow, but not enough for the ring. Fortunately, we met a lovely couple that were looking for a baby to love and call their own. They want to spoil him rotten and take him everywhere with them! Every little doggie's dream! Congratulations to the Martin Family of Minnesota!

We are thrilled to have you both as new members of the Serenade Family!

Serenade Welcomes Merlin!!!

I am so proud to introduce our newest addition to the Serenade team!

AKC CH Zeley's Merlin at Eckbacken!!

With all my heart my gratitude and thanks go out to Roma Tesch of Charisma Papillons for allowing him into our home. Merlin has everything we strive to produce here, and this just brings us one step closer to our goals. He has TONS of coat, beautiful movement, excellent tail set, a beautiful face with dark eyes, lovely straight front with really nice chest depth..
I could go on and on!

Just a little info on Merlin:

Merlin comes from a long line of old bloodlines in papillons that are becoming harder and harder to find. He finished his title easily, gaining many points from the puppy classes. He has earned numerous Best of Breeds and even took a group placement from the puppy classes! In 2000, he was among the TOP 10 papillons in the Plains system and could easily have been specialed.

Right now, Merlin is enjoying the life of a pet.. with the joy of chasing the ladies of Serenade. We hope to get him back into shape and try him out in the veteran's class at some of our local shows, just for fun!
In the mean time, be on the look out for Mini Merlins running the ring!

Available Puppies

Serenade Currently has a few puppies available.

Chance is a Dream and Sweet Boy puppy and he is TINY TINY!! He will probably never get over 4 pounds, if he's fat. For the serious home looking for a precious tiny baby that will look and act like a show dog. If he were a couple inches taller, we would keep and finish him. Prospect owners will have already done their homework on tinies and know the benefits and setbacks in dealing with them. Chance has been adopted!

Chase is a Show Prospect. He has a wonderful structure and would be a great "first showdog" for the new enthusiast. He has huge ears that will likely have curtain fringing, lovely neck, long tail with nice teacup setting, level topline, nice front and rear, and already free stacks. Chase will be adopted as a show prospect on a SHOW CONTRACT requiring that he be shown to his full potential and he will be co-owned until he finishes. Chase has been adopted!

If you are interested in either of these boys, please go to our INQUIRY FORM and take the time to fill it out honestly.

We also have a dear friend with some nice puppies available for super reasonable prices. She has one black and white male(Jack), one tri colored male with a little white on the ears (Marko-too cute), and one nicely marked vivid/classic tri female (Nancy). Update: All puppies have been adopted.

Photos of Serenade Puppies on the Available page, photos of friends paps available on request.

After showing us that he is in it to win, we are going to work full force towards his International Honor Champion title, United Championship, and American Championships.
Way to go Sweet Boy! We knew you could do it!
Watch for him in the ring!

Dream's Puppies!!!

Dream's Puppies Have Arrived!!!

Talk about a Mother's Day Present!
(Shown in order of appearance) :o)

These puppies have long been waited for and we are thrilled that they are here. Nadia will be staying at Serenade. Chase will stay until he is old enough to be evaluated and he may stay with us or be placed with a friend to be shown. Chance's eye will fill in as his blaze shrinks while he is growing. His markings are quite unique. If he "makes the cut" his grandma is looking forward to having him.

(These puppies are not available- so please dont ask.)

Dream Update-Still Nothing

Well, I think Dream has decided to keep her puppies! Her temp is still fluctuating, but it is coming down overall. Her first due date (63 days from 1st breeding) was yesterday. Second due date is Tuesday, then Wednesday, then Thursday. I have been staying very close and checking her temp every 2-5 hours depending on her mood. So far, she is enjoying all the belly rubs and attention, but showing no signs of labor stress. I guess she knows when the babies are ready, and until then, no one can convince her otherwise.

The babies on the other hand.. they are ready to make their debut! All of them, well at least two, are serious fighters. When I find them in her belly I make a point to rub their heads softly and two will start to wiggle as soon as I stop! Kick and stretch! They are so cute already. I can't wait to see them in person, or I guess, in the fur...

Unexpected Surprise!

Well, as you know, we are still waiting for Mrs. Dream to deliver those four little ones! Today is probably the day, but only she knows for sure.
Anyway, I had to go outside to temporarily fix the fence because Daisy and Angel have taken up their mother's art of escaping. I asked Dream to go with me, and she came out of her whelping box and went with me outside.

When I opened the door, ALL of our paps jumped up from where they were laying- under the tree by our shed. Sweet Boy barked at me and the rest seemed to stare me down.. What is this? I wondered. Then I heard it.. Meeeew!

I looked in the middle of where they had been laying and a BABY KITTEN was there! We knew it didnt belong to the cat that usually roams around our house, she had no milk and wasnt big enough, besides, this kitten was IN our fence and probably barely old enough to eat on his/her own. This isnt a newly delivered kitten, its a dump off. I know it is terrible, but I was so proud of my crew for banding together to take care of the little one. Here is her photo:

She is currently residing in the pouch of my hoodie I am wearing around my waist so she (or he) can sleep. She is a beautiful black and white baby with brilliant blue eyes and medium coat. If you know anyone looking for a kitten, please call me!

Ps. I know at this point I cant write without saying something about Dream- Her temp dropped about two hours ago down to 100.0 from 100.7 in one hour. I'm trying to give her some space because she has been nervous and sick. I'll take her temp again in a couple of hours, but I dont want her to feel like a pin cushion. Besides, it has been going up and down and up and down all week. I wish she would make up her mind! She is currently asleep in her whelping box, so when we have puppies, I will post them on here AS SOON AS THEY ARRIVE- photos and all. For those of you who are promised a phone call as they are born, please be patient, there are a lot of you!

Love~
